NAFC STAFF RETURN FROM NORWEGIAN FACT FINDING MISSION
A team from the NAFC Marine Centre’s Marine Science and Technology department has just returned from a fact finding mission to Norway where some salmon farming companies are using Ballan wrasse as ‘cleaner fish’ to control sea lice levels on salmon farms in a natural and sustainable way. more

Staff of Shetland Aquaculture and Seafood Shetland hosted a ‘Soup and Sandwiches’ event in Stewart Building on Friday 5 September 2008, as a fundraiser for the CLAN 123 Appeal, which aims to raise funds for a purpose built new Cancer Support Centre in Aberdeen.

 

Between noon and 2.00pm, guests and staff of businesses closely involved with the two trade bodies enjoyed a selection of home-made soup, sandwiches and homebakes, in the comfortable surroundings of the boardroom, and adjoining offices.

 

A total of £1,040 was raised through donations on the day, and sale of raffle tickets for the CLAN 123 raffle which will be drawn Up-Helly-Aa day 2009, Tuesday 27 January.

 

Shetland Aquaculture and Seafood Shetland would like to thank everyone who attended for their very generous donations.
